Charles Target (I,II,III,IV)
Mr. Target, responsible for business development, is co-founder of Bowen Asia, where he is registered as an investment advisor. Before starting Bowen, Mr. Target was a General Partner at Apax Ventures in London, responsible for private equity and venture capital investments in the media sector; making, developing and realizing investments in radio, telecommunications, television, magazines and advertising. He joined Apax from The Economist Group, where he was Marketing Director and then Deputy Managing Director of The Economist Publications Limited. At the Economist, he conceived and launched “The World in . . . ”, The Economist’s annual edition.
Outside his professional life, Mr. Target is chairman of Agravina Limited, a company investing in the agribusiness industry in Vietnam. He founded the company in 1992 and has built it into a profitable and growing concern, employing over a thousand people. Mr. Target holds a degree in Physics and Philosophy from Oxford University and an MBA with distinction from the Harvard Business School.
Emily Ng
Ms. Ng is the group's Chief Operating Officer, having joined Bowen Capital Management at it's founding in 1994 as the office manager, Emily oversees all aspects of the company's operations including fund administrations, accountancy, audit and HR functions. Emily is also responsible for the management of the Bowen office in Tokyo. She was previously employed at Lloyd George Management Ltd. Ms. Ng has a degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of London. She speaks English, Cantonese and some Mandarin.
Sheila Ma
Ms. Ma is our legal and compliance officer.
She is a lawyer qualified in both England and Hong Kong.
She attended London University where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws Degree.
She returned to Hong Kong in 1986 and shortly thereafter joined Richards Butler primarily working on corporate finance transactions for 7 years.
In 1994 she joined the Corporate Finance Division of the Hong Kong and Securities and Futures Commission assisting in the formulation of listing regulations of the Hong Kong securities market.
After spending a year at the Securities and Futures Commission, Ms. Ma joined HSBC International Trustee in Hong Kong in 1995 as an in-house legal and compliance officer.
In 1999 she transferred to HSBC's main Legal Department as a legal adviser responsible for all legal matters pertaining to HSBC's Private Banking and Asset Management operations in Hong Kong.
She joined Bowen in May 2002.
Heather Yu
Ms. Yu is our operations manager and administrator for our client
portfolios. She began her career in 1988 as a funding supervisor at
Indosuez Investment Services Ltd. (now part of the Crédit Agricole Group).
After returning from Canada in 1993, she joined Danamon Finance Co. (HK) Ltd.
where she worked in treasury. She joined Bowen in 1996. Ms. Yu was
educated in Hong Kong and speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
Kathleen Chan
Ms. Chan is our settlement manager. She began her career in 1979 as a Treasury Dealer at Banque Indosuez (later renamed Crédit Agricole Indosuez) and was later made Senior Assistant Manager in the Forex and Treasury Administration Department. In 2000, she became Treasurer at Cheuvreux Securities (formerly Indosuez W. I. Carr), reporting directly to the Head of Operations/COO. She joined Chief Securities as Settlement Officer in September 2003 and came to Bowen in April 2006.
