Asian markets are still small, and their economies are still developing, which means a great deal of volatility. Our approach to minimizing risk has been to get to know our companies better than anyone else, and to focus on the long, rather than the short term. Our portfolios are concentrated in not more than 20 investments and generally, turnover is very low. When markets and companies look overvalued or if there are exogenous shocks, we can raise cash levels in our portfolios.
The Bowen Asia Fund invests in high quality growth companies throughout Asia. The fund (formerly called The Stewart Asia Fund) was launched in January 1995.
The Red Cobra Fund was launched in October 2004. It invests in the long-term growth of the Chinese and Indian economies.
In 2001, Bowen launched The Arrow Fund, a global equity fund which selects the best growth companies from around the world. In July 2010, we changed the fund's investment mandate to focus on the growth of Chinese consumption, with particular emphasis on home grown consumer brands competing well with foreign entrants.
We firmly believe that our clients should fully understand our investment approach and our thinking about companies and markets as conditions change. We provide monthly and ad hoc updates for a high degree of transparency.
Please note that our funds are domiciled in the Cayman Islands and are not authorized in Hong Kong. Clients may also open separately managed discretionary accounts with us.
